Title
LiFePO4 Solar Street Light Battery | 96Wh–1220Wh | IP67 | Customizable | YaoQian BESS
Product Description
YaoQian LiFePO4 Solar Street Light Batteries are purpose-built energy storage solutions for all-in-one and split-type solar street lighting systems. Available in a full range of voltages (3.2V / 12.8V / 25.6V) and capacities (30Ah to 60Ah per cell string, 96Wh to 1220Wh total energy), each unit is engineered to deliver reliable nighttime illumination through the harshest outdoor environments.
Unlike conventional lead-acid batteries, our LiFePO4 chemistry provides significantly higher energy density in a smaller, lighter package — reducing installation labour, pole load, and long-term maintenance costs. With an IP67 fully waterproof and dustproof rating, these batteries operate reliably in heavy rain, coastal humidity, desert dust, and sub-zero winter conditions.
All units support customisable dimensions, connectors and capacity to match any solar street light controller on the market. Factory-direct pricing and OEM/ODM services are available with MOQ from 50 units.
Key Selling Points
1 High stored energy density in an ultra-compact, lightweight enclosure — LiFePO4 chemistry delivers 30–50% more energy per kilogram compared to lead-acid, dramatically reducing the weight and size of the battery pack mounted inside or alongside the street light pole.
2 IP67 fully waterproof and dustproof rating — the robust aluminium alloy enclosure withstands complete dust ingress protection and immersion in up to 1 metre of water for 30 minutes, ensuring uninterrupted operation in tropical monsoons, coastal saltwater environments, and sandy desert regions.
3 Long service life with ≥2,000 deep charge-discharge cycles — verified cycle performance at 80% DOD means the battery will outlast the LED lamp head and solar panel in most installations, with consistent capacity retention in temperatures from -20°C to +55°C discharge range.
4 Intelligent control compatibility — plug-and-play with mainstream street light controllers — standard connector options and voltage configurations (3.2V, 12.8V, 25.6V) are compatible with all major solar street light controllers including MPPT and PWM types, with optional BMS communication output for smart dimming systems.
5 Fully customisable dimensions, capacity, voltage and connector — OEM orders support custom cell configuration, housing shape, terminal type, BMS parameters and label printing to match any street light design. Sample delivery in 7–10 days. MOQ from 50 units.
Why LiFePO4 over Lead-Acid for Solar Street Lights
Lead-acid batteries have long been used in solar street lights, but LiFePO4 technology has become the industry standard for modern installations for three key reasons. First, weight: a LiFePO4 battery of equivalent capacity weighs roughly 40% less than a sealed lead-acid unit — reducing pole stress and making installation safer and faster. Second, cycle life: while a standard VRLA battery delivers 300–500 cycles before significant degradation, our LiFePO4 cells provide ≥2,000 cycles, meaning replacement intervals are 4–6× longer. Third, performance in extreme temperatures: lead-acid batteries lose up to 50% of their capacity at 0°C, whereas LiFePO4 maintains reliable output down to -20°C — critical for northern climate markets.

FAQ
Q1What is the difference between the 3.2V, 12.8V and 25.6V versions?
AThe 3.2V units are single prismatic LiFePO4 cells suitable for direct integration into controller-managed battery packs. The 12.8V units (4 cells in series) are the most common choice for 12V solar street light systems and are a direct drop-in replacement for 12V lead-acid batteries. The 25.6V units (8 cells in series) are designed for higher-power LED luminaires and 24V system controllers. We can supply any custom series/parallel configuration on request.
Q2Can I use your battery to replace the existing lead-acid battery in my solar street light?
AIn most cases yes — if your controller supports lithium battery charging profiles (CV/CC). Many modern MPPT and PWM controllers have a built-in lithium mode. However, some older lead-acid-only controllers may not charge LiFePO4 to the correct voltage. We recommend verifying your controller model first. We can also supply replacement battery packs pre-sized to fit your existing battery compartment.
Q3Can you customise the battery to fit inside our street light housing?
AYes — this is one of our core OEM services. Please send us your housing internal dimensions (L×W×H in mm), required voltage, required capacity (Ah or Wh), connector type and controller model. Our engineering team will design a custom cell configuration and housing to match. Sample lead time is 7–10 working days.
Q4How long will the battery last on a full charge (backup hours)?
AThis depends on your LED luminaire wattage. As a quick guide: a YQ-480Wh (12.8V 40Ah) battery powering a 10W LED will provide approximately 40 hours of lighting; powering a 30W LED it provides approximately 13 hours; powering a 60W LED approximately 7 hours. For your specific application, share your LED wattage and required backup days with us and we will recommend the correct Wh rating.
Q5What is the minimum order quantity and do you offer samples?
AStandard MOQ is 50 units for our catalogue models (96Wh–1220Wh). For OEM/custom sizes, MOQ starts at 50–100 units depending on complexity. Samples of 1–5 units are available at sample price — contact us at info@yaoqianbess.com with your specifications to request a sample quotation. Sample lead time is 7–10 working days.
Q6What certifications do your solar street light batteries carry?
AOur batteries are CE and RoHS compliant. UN38.3 transport safety test reports are available upon request. MSDS and IEC62133 test reports can also be provided. For projects requiring specific market certifications (SAA for Australia, BIS for India, SABER for Saudi Arabia), please contact us in advance as lead times vary.
Q7How do I calculate which battery size I need for my solar street light project?
AUse this simple formula: Required Wh = LED Wattage × Hours per night × Backup days ÷ 0.85 (efficiency factor). For example: 30W LED × 10 hours/night × 3 rainy days backup ÷ 0.85 = 1,059Wh — so a YQ-1220Wh (25.6V 50Ah) would be the correct choice. Send us your project specs and we will calculate the optimal battery for you at no charge.
